Welcome to the website of the Rose Croix District of North Essex. The purpose of this site is to provide news, information, and guidance for our members, as well as for those who may be considering membership of the Rose Croix within our District.
The Rose Croix Degree is the 18th Degree of the Ancient and Accepted Rite of Freemasonry. It is governed by the Supreme Council for England and Wales and its Districts and Chapters Overseas, whose headquarters are located at 10 Duke Street, St James’s, London.
The Ancient and Accepted Rite consists of thirty-three degrees and is commonly referred to as “Rose Croix”, as candidates enter the Order at the 18th Degree, formally entitled Prince Rose Croix of Heredom. Worldwide, the Ancient and Accepted Rite is the second largest Masonic Order after the Craft.
Within the District of North Essex there are fourteen Rose Croix Chapters, most of which meet three times a year. Our meetings are warm, welcoming, thought-provoking and, above all, enjoyable, providing members with a rich and rewarding Masonic experience.
The Inspector General Designate in Charge of the Rose Croix District of North Essex is V. Ill. Bro. Nick Franklin 33o, who is to be officially installed by the Supreme Council at Bocking St Peter Chapter, Howard Hall, Braintree, on 3rd March 2026.
If you are not yet a member of Rose Croix but have an interest in joining this wonderful Order, please feel free to contact the District Recorder, Ill. Bro. Brian Dack 32o, or alternatively one of our Chapter Recorders, who will be pleased to assist you.
